Pantophobia: Shower

Cleanse yourself of the past while an increasingly hostile presence threatens your sanity.

Clean the body.
Confront the guilt.
Survive the haunting.

Pantophobia is a planned anthology of short psychological horror experiences exploring different themes, fears and settings.

The first prototype, Shower, explores depression, loss and guilt through the seemingly ordinary act of trying to clean oneself.

As the player attempts to complete the process, supernatural disturbances intensify and their sanity becomes increasingly difficult to maintain.

Anthology Concept

Each Pantophobia entry is designed as a short, self-contained horror experience built around a specific emotional theme and setting.

The anthology format allows every entry to experiment with a different location, central mechanic and style of psychological horror while retaining a shared creative identity.

Shower acts as the first exploration of that structure, transforming an everyday private routine into a vulnerable and increasingly threatening experience.

My Contribution

Pantophobia was developed independently, covering both the creative concept and the technical implementation of the prototype.

Development Challenge

The main challenge was connecting emotionally sensitive subject matter with gameplay that remained unsettling, interactive and sincere.

The narrative needed to communicate depression, loss and guilt without overexplaining its meaning or making the emotional moments feel forced.

Haunting events also needed enough structure to support the story while remaining unpredictable enough to keep the player uncomfortable.

This required balancing scripted progression, environmental changes, sanity and the player’s attempts to complete the central cleansing objective.

Final Reflection

Pantophobia established a flexible horror concept capable of supporting multiple short stories, locations and experimental mechanics.

I am particularly proud of the overall design, original concept and 3D models produced for the Shower prototype.

The playable build acts as both a completed experiment and a foundation for potential future entries in the anthology.
